Some things that are not enough
It has been our experience that some things while being generally positive, do not directly influence the white marks on the skin. They also do not count as real "investigation". Rather they can be considered a bare minimum standard of action that indicates seriousness and a real desire to investigate your vitiligo.
Good sleep is not enough. It is not a new discovery that sleep helps with the body and mind and allows it to heal and repair itself. But this is not a cure for vitiligo and has not been shown to directly repigmented the skin. Sleep should always be taken seriously but does not qualify as "trying to do something" about your vitiligo.
Good diet is not enough. There is clearly a connection between vitiligo and diet but choosing to eat healthily and avoid a few foods here and there does not constitue any form of investigation strategy. Additionally diet is one of the things that people often use to say "they have tried everything" which usually means nothing more than changing a few meals and supplaments.
Good thoughts are not enough. The mind is a powerful thing and good thoughts are not something to underestimate in your journey. That being said you cannot "think" your way to health or reduced white marks and so once again we must clearly disqualify these types of things from being the core element of any action plan.
Good fitness is not enough. You need to have good fitness levels with or without vitiligo. Moving the body regularly and intentionally is not something amazing. It is literally what the body was designed to do. Therefore no sport or physical hobby is likely to hold the potential to see improvements in vitiligo alone.
You must be perfect. The core message when deciding to investigate your vitiligo is that the things mentioned above are the bare minimum and it will take a lot more than the bare minimum to realistically start to see some changes in your vitiligo. Equally you should not feel overwhelmed with this information. Vitiligo has not been completely and exhaustively studied and you may find you own experience to be different in which case we encourage and invite you to share your obervations with us in the vitiligo database proper.
