Compassion

One thing you realise when working with people on the IVIA program is that people with vitiligo are in a bad place. Most people are not in the correct frame of mind to be able to think hopefully about their future let alone decide to independently investigate vitiligo for themselves and others.

There is a clear need to help them mentally , physically and spiritually but it is not as simple as “do this”  or “read this” and  often if they are recommended a good self help book the response is that the ideas might work but not for people with vitiligo.

This challenge needs to be addressed with compassion and caring that is not unique to vitiligo but with the added awareness of the nuance that having vitiligo implies.

We have tried very hard in our collections to really aim them at people with vitiligo only. This is because we understand the totally unique and separate condition they feel themselves to be in and we would like to create the conditions for that to change not with a shortcut but we strong foundations and strategy.

The message is not hard. Or soft. Or something that requires too much analysis. The message on this project is correct. It is the approach that is currently needed for the people who need it.

It is not your fault you have vitiligo and it is not a crime to feel helpless.

We only wonder what would happen when the helplessness transforms to hopefulness.
