Why we needed C theory

C theory is slowly becoming an irreplaceable tool for discussion and experimentation with our investigators. This unexpected but not unwelcome news is further indication that we are doing the correct thing. What is C theory? And why does it exist? Here we try to explore from the beginning.

  1. A clear starting point. It is easy to become motivated and enthusiastic to investigate your vitiligo but before C theory there was no clear point of entry which would allow someone to begin the process in a minor but meaningful way. With no defined parameters the individual falls in the “i’ve tried everything” trap while actually not having done anything at all.

  2. A standard point of discussion. The fact that multiple people with vitiligo read it means that they can use it to experiment and then discuss their experiences. This role of C theory as a topic of small talk has become one of the best aspects of it and vital in terms of exchanging ideas on what works and doesn’t work.

  3. Moving away from randomness. A huge issue in the broader vitiligo community is people claiming to have tried an incredibly large number of things about their vitiligo. While this is good albeit unlikely. We must make sure that the things people are trying have some kind of logical basis for investigation.

  4. No combined general theory of healing and disease currently exists. C theory is an effort to mix scientific, psychological, spiritual and ancient cultural perspectives into a single general theory. The nature of these different fields is often contradictory and so it is a rare thing to see this combination which makes it even more valuable as an asset to the person sincerely seeking to investigate vitiligo.

It is definitely not perfect and the second edition (coming soon) will add new insights and corrections as we continue to learn new things but it was definitely needed if we are to be serious about our goal of making a massive contribution to vitiligo investigation.

C theory first edition

All investigation begins with a foundation to work from. Discoveries and breakthroughs may seem random at first but are usually the result of intentional pattern recognition and deep internal speculation. C theory is the foundation we use to begin the investigation process. It is not complete or exhaustive but it points the investigator in the correct direction on his way to make a massive contribution to vitiligo investigation.
